LARSON, DAVID OSCAR - San Francisco Chronicle

David Oscar Larson Sept 9, 1935-May 6, 2012 David Oscar Larson passed away on Sunday after a valiant battle with cancer. He touched many lives with his character and intellectual spirit. Dave was born in Modesto, CA, graduated from Menlo Atherton High School and attended Menlo College before obtaining his BA and JD from Stanford University where he was President of Phi Gamma Delta Fraternity. Following his reserve service in the United States Marine Corps, Dave dedicated 51 years to practicing law. Dave was a frequent lecturer on insurance issues at local and national insurance and trade association meetings and was a Life Fellow at the Defense Research Institute. Dave was a Regent in the American College of Trial Lawyers, President of the Harmonie Group, and active within the American Board of Trial Advocates and the International Academy of Trial Lawyers. He loved everything about the practice of Law. He retired from Lewis, Brisbois, Bisgaard & Smith, LLP. in March of this year. He enjoyed reading, golf and travel. His favorite place on earth was his backyard gazebo. Dave is survived by his loving wife and best friend Carol, devoted children Peter of Grass Valley, CA, John of West Chester, PA, Daughter-in-law Shari and grandchildren, Max, Ian, Spencer and Eli of West Chester, PA. His indelible personality will be missed by all who knew him, even his Cal friends. Friends and family are invited to a memorial service on Saturday May 12, 2012 from 11:00-12:00 at St. Stephens Episcopal Church 66 Saint Stephens Drive Orinda, CA followed by an offsite reception location to be announced. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of David Oscar Larson, Class of 1955, may be sent (payable) to Menlo College, 1000 El Camino Real, Atherton, CA 94027-4301, Attention: Tina Fairbairn, Alumni Relations.
