Postal carriers "Stamp Out Hunger" Saturday - WAOW

Postal carriers across the country are asking you to put more than a letter in your mailbox tomorrow.

They're asking for food donations.

Organizers say the annual Stamp Out Hunger event is the largest one-day food collection drive in the country.

Last year.. the Wausau post office collected almost 61,877 pounds of food.

Nationwide, 70.4 million pounds of food was collected.

You're asked to consider putting a non-perishable food item, like canned soup, vegetables and pasta next to your mailbox.

It will be collected during regular delivery Saturday, May 12th.
